Mulled wine

Christmas is at the door which means it’s high time for buying presents, cleaning the house and baking. All of these things demand a lot of our everyday energy and cause stress. Large amounts of stress can harm our nervous system that’s why I decided to suggest a warm drink that will erase all your worries and problems at least for a short-term.
Magical drink is known as mulled wine which believe me or not has a beneficial influence on one’s health. For example mulled wine contains a great deal of natural polyphenols or antioxidants which help our cells fight against free radical damage and also increase our levels of ‘good’ cholesterol.
So don’t feel guilty while enjoying the drink and be careful with the dose.

Ingredients:
1 bottle of red wine
1 cinnamon stick
2 oranges (1 for garnish)
5 whole cloves
2, 5 oz. of sugar

Preparation:
1.    Pour the wine in the saucepan with the orange zest and juice, cinnamon stick, cloves and sugar.
2.    Simmer the wine on low heat for 15 minutes.

3.    Serve with the orange slices and cheers!
